Zrmanja
The river in the northern part of Dalmatia, 69 km long, with a powerful spring at the foot of Velebit at 395 m altitude, flows into the Novigrad sea. In its upper course Zrmanja shapes a valley 7 km wide.
Zrmanja abounds in perfectly warm water, magnificent canyons and waterfalls. Its crystal clear waters meander through a canyon in places up to 200 m deep, where Zrmanja formed lime-stone waterfalls of which Veliki buk is its greatest sight of nature owing to its extreme beauty and height of up to 10 m.
